HarperCollins Launches Bookperk Social Reading Site

HarperCollins Publishers has launched a new social shopping website called Bookperk that gives “insider access to the world of books.” Like Groupon, Bookperk users can get special group discounts on products, as well as gain access to special events.

Recent offers have included the chance to win a signed copy of Justin Bieber‘s First Step 2 Forever; a signed copy of the New York Times bestseller, If You Have to Cry, Go Outside by Kelly Cutrone; and a special Melissa Marr bundle for her upcoming book, Darkest Mercy.

Claire Goldwitz, Product Manager of Bookperk stated: “Authors are going beyond the written word and connecting with their audiences by hosting cocktail parties and skype chats, calling into book clubs and hosting workout sessions.”
