HarperCollins released its first three enhanced eBooks last week. The publisher told Publishers Weekly that they plan to do at least five more enhanced eBooks in the coming months.

Ana Maria Allessi, VP, publisher, HarperMedia told PW that they are experimenting this year. They are working with retail partners to determine the kinds of content they should create. PW reports: “Allessi said HC is talking to different retailers this week about what enhancements they would like to see, and what they can support, before adding additional material to titles. ‘What we are doing is being driven by what can be presented’ by retailers, Allessi said.”

HarperCollins current enhanced eBooks go for $14.99. The list includes: Getting the Pretty Back, God is Not One and Louder than Words. All of these titles were released after the print editions, but going forward, the enhanced eBooks will be released at the same time as print.
