Helio Begins Offering Discounts

Mobile-media-focused Helio, which has made a point of maintaining its handset pricing, is offering a limited-time, online-only promotion with at least $50 off each of the three currently available handsets, according to an RCR Wireless News report.

The discounts vary from $50 to $100, depending on the handset.

Helio recently reported its subscriber base had reached 140,000 and that it received a fresh commitment of $270 million in funds from co-parent SK Telecom, the article said. As we reported last month, Earthlink handed the reins over to SK Telecom and washed its hands of any and all things Helio.
