Heyzap’s ‘Play Tab’ Simplifies Access To Recently Played Games

Once again the popular social game discovery platform, Heyzap, is making the mobile gaming experience more even more user friendly. Today they announced the addition of a new ‘Play tab’ to its Android app. Conveniently located on the toolbar, the new feature makes it easier than ever for users to browse through their game library without having to search through their whole app library. The company assured us that an iPhone update will be coming soon as well. More after the jump.

Prior to the new Play Tab, Android users found themselves bumbling through their ever-growing app library forever, just to find the game they play everyday. Now all the games are organized together under this tab and with a single click they can get to their games. That’s not all though. The new Play Tab considers your gaming history and will assure that the games you play most will be at the top of the list.

Since March, Heyzap has been working to perfect their social network for mobile gamers. At first, it enabled users to “check in” to their mobile games to tell their friends what they’re playing. Then they started analyzing the check-in data to see which games you were playing most. This data allowed them to send users recommendations for new games based on what they play most. The newest update introduces an enhanced “smart stream” which analyzes a users check-in history, follower networks, andsocial activity to make the most relevant info to that user more accessible.

Mobile game discovery still depends (to an extent) on paid discovery, top lists and app store charts tohighlight new games, however, Heyzap’s app is gaining considerable momentum. Heyzap has powered millions of game installations and Heyzap co-founder, Akhund Immad, claims that it doubles the rate of app downloads a user makes. With over 600 games connected to its SDK, they are determined to show the industry that social game discovery can, and is, an effective and profitable approach to finding new users.
