HP announced enhancements to its MagCloud print-on-demand publishing platform, which will allow publishers to more easily create print and digital versions of magazines.

A MagCloud magazine store and reader application for the iPad is now available free-of-charge through the Apple App Store, enabling users of the tablet to download digital copies of magazines and purchase printed copies directly via their iPads.

Shipping has now been extended worldwide, allowing readers anywhere to order single issues of magazines.

And MagCloud now offers publishers the option of perfect-bound magazines, providing a more professional look and accommodating issues of more than 300 pages.

HP director of new business initiatives Andrew Bolwell said:

MagCloud has enabled thousands of magazine publishers to sell hundreds of thousands of magazine issues, generating millions of pages of new content. These new MagCloud services unlock an even greater opportunity for growth, providing readers the freedom to consume the targeted content they want in the format they want, whether that be print or digital.
