Last week we wrote about TV.com‘s explosive traffic growth during the month of January. We mentioned how the CBS Interactive site had been embedding shows from Hulu, with the Hulu player and all.
Now, B&C reports Hulu has removed its content from TV.com.
The two parties are engaged in a dispute though neither party wished to shed any light on the nature of the talks. A Hulu statement today read simply, “Hulu has contractual rights with regards to our relationship with TV.com and we are exercising those rights. Out of respect for their confidentiality, we will not disclose our discussions.” A spokeswoman for TV.com had no comment about the issue.
TV.com had a 1,261% increase in streams for January and a 263% increase in unique viewers for the month. How much of that off the back of Hulu, has not been quantified.
