IAC, the company behind Ask.com, just started a new service for cellphones called Ask Mobile GPS (gps.ask.com).
Like a number of other mobile initiatives (particularly from the major portals like Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo), Ask Mobile GPS culls from a number of sources — including social networking, local maps, and GPS navigation — in order to answer questions on the go.
Currently, the service pulls information from Ask.com, Citysearch.com, and Evite.com. Later on, they’re expecting to add content from Ticketmaster.com, RealEstate.com, and Match.com to the mix.
