Icon to Launch Tool for Curating a Professional Profile from Multiple Networks

Professionals use many networks to establish credibility online, like Twitter and Quora as well as LinkedIn.

To catch socially savvy professionals without requiring them to maintain yet another site, an Austin, TX-based startup called Icon has created a service for building a resume and a virtual business card from multiple social feeds.

The site will open to the public on February 20 after a private beta test.

Icon works similarly to other aggregation tools like RebelMouse, connecting to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook to provide a complete picture of a person’s online presence. Pinterest and Instagram are coming soon.

But this site has a clever twist: flip over a person’s business card at the top of his or her profile page and you can automatically add that person to your contact list or download the information to your computer or mobile device.

Users can also see who has viewed, saved, and shared the content on their profiles.

Founded by veteran entrepreneurs Kent Savage and Matt Hovis in 2012, Icon has raised $500,000 in angel funding and is preparing for a Series A round when the site launches next week.
