Island Def Jam Music Group has hooked up with mobile content and solutions provider Flycell to launch IDJ Mobile, a subscrption service that offers exclusive online and mobile content. Flycell is providing the mobile billing and content delivery platform and Island Def Jam is providing the exclusive content.
For $9.99 a month, subscribers get access to more than 20,000 ringtones, graphcs, games, text services, label news, artist mobile blogs and such. They can also enter contests to win nifty prices like VIP backstage passes to concerts. Unfortunately, you have to sign up for IDJ Mobile in order to see the content that’s offered and how much stuff costs above the monthly fee.
IDJ Mobile is available to Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Virgin Mobile, Boost, Alltel, Cellular One, Metro PCS and SunCom subscribers.
The new service, which launched today, has snagged Kanye West as its flagship artist, so fans can sign up and check out all sorts of Kanye-focused goodies.
