Internet Mobile Group Launches Mobile and Web Studio

IDT Internet Mobile Group (IMG) announced Tuesday the formation of Zedge Studios, a new studio which will develop and license content for the Web and mobile platforms, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Zedge Studios will capitalize on the loyal user base of social networking community Zedge, which it acquired in December 2006.

According to the report, IMG also acquired a controlling interest in IDW Publishing. They’re a comics publisher in the horror, action, and sci-fi genres, with titles like CSI, 24, and Star Trek in their portfolio, all of which could make their way to cell phones as a result of the deal.
