Are you sitting down? Because you are about to see something that will knock your socks clear off! This amazing iPad animation, uploaded to Vimeo less than twenty-four hours ago by creative communications agency Dentsu London, explores the possibilities of the iPad as an artistic device and the results are absolutely stunning. The video has gotten over 109,000 views in the first day. If you haven’t seen it yet, you won’t want to miss it after the jump!
Dentsu London describes the inspiration behind the project, which is a collaboration with BERG, on their website. What they wanted to express was the idea of “Making Future Magic”. They write, “It’s an exciting project for us, as it’s the first time we’ve had a proper chance to explore some of the themes and possibilities behind Making Future Magic.” The Making Future Magic strategy is to create creative work that is exploratory with regard to media and materials and to create a picture of what the magic of future media may look like.
Using the iPad and stop motion animation, Dentsu London and BERG were able to create a magical, futuristic land. You’ve never seen anything like this, so I won’t keep you from checking out the video any longer. Before the official clip begins, Dentsu London takes you through the basic process that it took to create this video. What do you think? Do you think you could do this with your iPad?
