iPad Users Can Get Their Fwix

FwixiPad.jpgHyper-local news provider Fwix launched a free iPad app allowing users of the new Apple tablet to view news articles and blog posts aggregated for more than 80 cities in the United States and Canada, TechCrunch reported.

The iPad app seeks to give users the feel of a local newspaper, displaying stories in a map format and allowing users to access news by location and topic, as well as to share news via Facebook, Twitter, and email, according to TechCrunch.

Real-time local newswire Fwix locates, optimizes, categorizes, and distributes local news in 175 markets in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The company reached a deal last month with The New York Times Co. to add its hyper-local content to the newspaper publisher’s Internet properties.
