For me, Apple’s decision to keep the iPhone 3G and lowering its price to $99 after the 3GS’ release was both brilliant and puzzling. I kept thinking that people would be happy to be able to buy a cheap 3G for a while. But, that customer-base would disappear after people had a chance to see the video and auto-focus digital photos their 3GS toting friends were producing.
It looks like my musings might be right after all. The BoyGenius Report got a tip that led to to ask…
Apple launching iPhone 3GS 8GB soon?
The question now is how will this 8GB 3GS model be priced? Will it replace the current 3G model at $99? Or will Apple compress prices from both ends and have a price tier structure that looks like this: $129, $189, $279.
