Independent consultant Rahim Amlani joined iVillage Networks as vice president of commercial initiatives, where he will be responsible for driving revenue growth and user engagement for the core site, as well as four new vertical sites set to launch later this year.

Amlani spent the past year as an independent consultant for early-stage start-ups and smaller business units within larger corporations. Prior to that, he held the posts of VP of product management at WeightWatchers.com and VP of product management and product marketing at Orbitz for Business, also having worked with SideStep, GetThere and American Airlines.

He will report to iVillage Networks general manager Rebecca Miskin.

Miskin said in a release:

As we gear up for the relaunch of iVillage and continue building on the site’s momentum, Rahim will implement strategies for growth, work to even better integrate our community and build partnerships with advertisers. His deep digital background and expertise in business development, product and e-commerce, as well as his wealth of knowledge of the family and women’s online spaces, make him the ideal choice for this role.
