Barnes & Noble is strengthening its eBook division with two new appointments. Jamie Iannone has been named President of Barnes & Noble Digital Products and John Foley has joined the company as President of Barnes & Noble eCommerce.

In his new position, Iannone will be responsible for all NOOK eReading devices, eBooks and digital content and third-party partnerships. Previously Iannone led Barnes & Noble’s online business and eBookstore since he joined the company as Executive Vice President a year ago.

Foley comes to B&N from IAC. In his new job, he will manage the BN.com online retail business, as well as merchandising, online and search marketing.

Both of the new hires will report to B&N CEO William Lynch. This news comes after the company said it is considering putting itself up for sale earlier this month.
