JELL-O Jiggle-It: Dancing Jell-o on iPhones & iPads

Here’s a little something for your iPhone or iPad to keep you amused over the weekend. Kraft Foods released an amusing, and free, app that displays Jell-o cubes that dance to the rhythms of songs from your library.

Here’s how it works. You choose from one of five flavors (colors). Then, you can either select a song from your library or have it use the device’s microphone to listen to music playing on speakers.

Once the music starts playing, the Jell-o cube starts dancing. You can swipe a finger across the cube to activate special moves. That’s it! The Jell-o cube has more than 30 dance moves. There are a couple of “gotchas,” however.

1. Songs protected by DRM cannot be used. These are songs that were purchased before iTunes songs became DRM-free.

2. If the Jell-o dancing algorithm does not like a song, it will slide off-stage and issue a warning.
