The worldwide mobile content market is expected to surpass $64 billion by 2012, up from $20 billion in 2007, according to the latest report from Juniper Research. The projection is down from the market researcher’s original forecast of $77 billion by 2011, says mocoNews.net.
Mobile music is expected to keep its market share lead and account for some $17.5 billion, with for-pay games taking a fairly close second at $16 billion. Juniper expects the nascent mobile TV market to experience significant growth over the next few years, increasing from $1.4 billion in 2007 to $11.9 billion in 2012, according to the Web site.
