Yahoo_Entrance_CNET.jpgCNET News is reporting that Yahoo and Google are delaying implementation of their much-ballyhooed search-ad deal to give Justice Department antitrust investigators more time to check it out.

Under the deal, which was struck around the same time as the Microsoft-Yahoo merger talks fell through, Yahoo plans to implement parts of Google’s search ad platform in order to fill in gaps in the venerable portals own ad strategy. The report said that Yahoo expects $800 million in extra revenue from the ad deal. Neither company has given a time frame for the investigation, though reports had initially pegged it as ending this month.
