Today big name brands like Zynga and PokerStars lead the market when it comes to online poker games, but KibiApps is looking to give these brands a run for their money with Final Table Poker—a Facebook poker game that mixes things up by allowing fans to recreate real hands from major poker tournaments. To raise the money to compete with Zynga and other poker bigwigs, KibiApps has turned to Kickstarter, appealing to poker fanatics to help them raise money to develop the new game.
According to a press release, “Most online and Facebook poker games allow players to play for coins and other virtual goods against other online players. This is a very basic experience and one that is replicated across Facebook by many apps. However, there is no poker app that lets users play against the superstars of poker and to use the experience of the pros to improve their skills.” Final Table Poker is looking to create this experience.
The game presents the player with hands that were played by real poker pros in real poker tournaments, giving players the opportunity to see whether they can make the same decisions as the pros and win the game. Additionally, the game claims to kill “dead time” in poker that results from fold after fold when being dealt bad hands, by always giving players a hand they can win—just as long as they’ve got the right strategy and make the right moves.
Sharon Shani, CEO of KibiApps says, “There is currently no other poker game like this on the market. We wanted to create a game that appeals to true poker fans—players who want the experience of sitting down at the final table of a major tournament. Our team is made up of die-hard poker fans and that’s why we are turning to other poker fans on Kickstarter to help bring Final Table Poker to the masses. Poker games are currently controlled by giants such as Zynga and others and it’s stifling innovation. We think that with the help of the poker community we can bring something new to the market.”
