There are a number of key apps that are still missing for Windows Phone 7. eWallet, Evernote, and Audible apps are still unavailable for Windows Phone. One key app just left the missing app list, however. While browsing through the Windows Phone Marketplace, I noticed that the Kindle app is now available for Windows Phone.

Kindle for Windows Phone 7 (Amazon product page)

I downloaded, installed, and logged in as quickly as possible. A quick visit to my archived Kindle ebook list let me download a book that I’m in the midst of reading off and on for several months using an actual Kindle as well as an iPhone, iPad, and Android phone.

The ebook’s text looked very good on the HTC HD7′s relatively large 4.3-inchd display. Screen and page movement within the app and in the ebook was very smooth. WhisperSync worked as expected placing me at the last page I read on my Kindle. Access to the Kindle store from within the app is a definite plus.

Kindle for Windows Phone 7 gets an initial mobile thumbs up from me based on a quick survey of the app on an HTC HD7.
