I know that there are a lot of people out there who think that Klout is a joke (oftentimes myself included), but something about it keeps me coming back day after day, hoping that I’ve got a little more Klout than I did the day before.  So you can only imagine my surprise when I logged into Klout this afternoon to see that my Klout had jumped from 55 to a whopping 67 and I was no longer a “specialist” but a “pundit” (woohoo!).  Turns out that this jump is the affect of a new updated Klout Score and it seems that I’m not the only person whose Klout has skyrocketed on this fine day.

In a video Klout CEO and co-founder Joe Fernandez explains that, “This is the most comprehensive and accurate model we’ve ever released.  We’re now incorporating over 400 signals from seven networks.  We’re measuring over 12 billion inputs per day, compared to only 1 billion in our last update.”

The site is also releasing a new feature called “Klout Moments,” which will provide insight into how each piece of content you create impacts your Klout score.  For the first time you’ll actually be able to see how and why your Klout influence score is what it is.  Pretty neat, eh?

Have you logged into Klout today?  Check out your score and let us know how it’s changed as a result of the update.  What do you think about the new Klout?
