KONY 2012 is continuing to spread like wildfire, despite controversy and criticism surrounding the film, and over the weekend Invisible Children released a follow up video to let the world know that “KONY 2012 is working.”

In an email that went out on Saturday, Invisible Children report that, “The response to the film and campaign has been incredible.”  They write that, “So far 3,530,673 people from countries all over the globe have pledged support.  The world is responding.  Policymakers are hearing your voice and are starting to take a stand in support of ending LRA violence.”

In a video, Invisible Children CEO Ben Keesey and Director of Idea Development Jedidiah Jenkins attest further to the results of the viral spread of the KONY 2012 film.

The duo also ask viewers to continue reaching out to their local leaders and spreading the word.

They also announced that in the coming week Invisible Children will be releasing ‘KONY 2012 Part 2.’  Jenkins explains, “It’s the update video giving you an update on exactly what’s going on with the LRA right now and the steps we’re taking to support the arrest of the leadership and the rehabilitation of the region.”

It looks like we may be getting a formal response to all the accusations that the KONY 2012 documentary misrepresented the actually situation in Uganda and it will be interesting to see how part two of the documentary lays things out.
