Latest Version of The Opera Browser Drops Support for Windows Mobile

Opera unveiled the latest editions of its mobile browsers today.

Opera Mini 6 and Opera Mobile 11 have been redesigned to work on tablets and other devices with large touchscreen. This is the Tablet Edition that Opera first let us see as CES 2011, and supported devices include Symbian phones and Android tablets.

This new release also marks the end of support for Windows Mobile. Sadly, this platform isn’t popular enough to justify the development cost anymore.

But there is some good news. The Android release is pseicifically designed to work better on large screen tablets and it also supports older versions of Android as far back as Android v1.6.

You can download the new versions of Opera here.
