Lil’ Birds for iPhone: Trade Virtual Birds & Treats with Facebook Friends

We started off the holiday season in the U.S. with one of more social of holidays yesterday – Thanksgiving. If you’re looking for one more social outlet, there’s a new free game that seems to have impressed the people providing customer ratings in the iTunes App Store. The free iPhone game Lil’ Birds by Villain lets you find, feed, pet and breed virtual games.

More than 5,000 varieties of birds are possible via virtual breeding. Birds and treats for the birds can be shared (given or traded) with friends connected via either Facebook or Apple’s Game Center. As with other free games, there’s a virtual currency involved. Lil’ Birds’ currencies are Coins and “Magic Feathers.” In-app purchases requiring real money is also available. The two in-app purchases listed are priced at 99 cents and $4.99.

Lil’ Birds has an average customer rating of 5 stars (out of a possible 5) with 27 current ratings. The lone 1 star rating was given by a person who found it did not run on a second generation iPod touch. The app’s product page states that it requires at least an third generation iPod touch or newer.

You can find Lil’ Birds here in the iTunes App Store.
