LinkedIn Pushing Sponsored Updates By Opening Access to Company Page APIs

In a blog post today, LinkedIn senior product specialist Keith Cowing said that the social network for businesses is now providing marketers access to Company Page APIs through third-party apps.

LinkedIn has partnered with Hootsuite, HubSpot, Spredfast, Adobe, Shoutlet, Percolate, Salesforce, and Sprinklr.

According to the announcement, this feature will allow marketers to publish Company Page content, as well as track conversations in real time, and view analytics through the Company Statistics API.

This news comes almost two weeks after LinkedIn announced it would be adding sponsored updates to users’ feeds.

“We want to enable our clients to manage their content marketing from any tool they are comfortable using. Opening our Company Page APIs means that all applications will have access to LinkedIn Company Pages. This will make it even easier for marketers to generate and manage content on LinkedIn and use our new Sponsored Updates solution to extend the reach of that content,” a portion of the blog post reads.

LinkedIn will also be reaching out to developers to encourage creation of third-party apps for use with Company Pages. Developers can go here to find out more information.
