LinkedIn Used HTML5 To Build iPad App

LinkedIn’s slick new iPad app was made with HTML5.

According to Venture Beat, 95% of the app is mobile web and not native. Here is more from the exclusive story: “We were shocked to hear this 95-percent figure from Kiran Prasad, who heads up LinkedIn’s mobile development team. Shocked, but not appalled — after all, Prasad was the engineering heft behind the company’s recent slew of gorgeous mobile apps, which were also heavily reliant on the mobile web.”

The app, whose layout SocialTimes compares to Flipboard, has tons of cool features such as the ability to sync your iPad’s calendar to LinkedIn data. This means that you’ll have the full background on people that you meet with embedded into your agenda.
