MediaPost reports that magazine Web sites are doing pretty well lately: unique visitors increased 8.5% in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, according to the Magazine Publishers of America. 69.7 million people visited a magazine Web site compared to 64.2 million in 2007.
The study was based on Nielsen Online data that spanned 314 consumer magazine brands. The growth rate is double that of the online U.S. population in general, which increased 4% to 165 million, according to the report. “The total reach of magazine Web sites increased from 40.5% of the U.S. Internet population in the second quarter of 2007 to 42.2% this year.”
