AOL’s MapQuest has added a new feature to its MapQuest 4 Mobile free downloadable app. The new My Places function lets registered users save maps and routes to their profile and access them later on their cell phone or via MapQuest.com. This marks the first time users can user their mobile phone to access content they’ve saved in their online MapQuest profile.
For starters, My Places is available for MapQuest 4 Mobile users with select BlackBerry phones. The company plans to launch the service for other handsets and “major mobile platforms” (read iPhone and Android maybe?) in the coming months.
