The 2009 version of CBSSports.com’s March Madness on Demand video player has already surpassed the entire 2008 tournament in unique visitors and hours of video and audio consumption.
Multichannel News writes that in just the first two rounds (four days), 5.6 million unique visitors used the site — up 17% from last year. It is also 60% more visitors than the first two rounds of ’08.
The “boss button” was hot this year as well, with 2.5 million hits in ’09 — already the same number as last year.
So far on television the tournament is up 6% over last year.
