It sounds crazy, given that we’ve barely gotten started with mobile TV on our cell phones. But media columnist Steve Smith might have a point in this latest Mobile Insider column.
It’s hard enough to plug through your phone’s menu system to begin with, much less sort through umpteen different V CAST television clips you’re not interested in just to find the one you want to see. Moreover, live television means – of course – commercials, which is probably not what you want to tune in to when you’ve got a few spare minutes.
Smith advocates fewer, targeted choices that really help you on the go, such as local weather TV clips, and two to three breaking news SMS messages per day. Makes sense when you think about it.
