MediaFLO USA expanded its live news coverage with three new channels of 24-hour-a-day mobile television, RCR Wireless News reports. Subscribers can now watch CNBC, MSNBC, and FOX News from any AT&T or Verizon, MediaFLO compatible device.
The report said that all three channels offer simulcast programming, which means delivering content simultaneously across mobile and cable networks. Look for cable show stalwarts such as MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann,” Bill O’Reilly’s “The O’Reilly Factor,” and “Mad Money with Jim Cramer.”
So how do you get MediaFLO? AT&T subscribers need a phone that’s compatible with AT&T Mobile TV, while Verizon customers can watch the three channels using any V CAST Mobile TV phone. That only adds up to about 10 handsets—remember that with broadcast mobile TV networks like MediaFLO, the picture is much smoother and clearer than with streamed mobile TV, but you’ll need a phone with a built-in TV tuner and extendable antenna.
