Meme Repository Site, Imgur, Releases Meme Generator App for iPhone

imgurImgur, just a huge repository of user-generated memes. The website is is used by Reddit users to craft  commentary onto popular meme photos. The images are then shared via Reddit which generally propels meme-worthy photos into quick internet stardom.

Pronounced “image-er/im-ij-er,” which comes from “ur” and the extension “img,” Imgur users have generated over 135,000 memes since its web meme generator was launched in June of 2013. Imgur’s app does the same work as the website’s generator, but on a smartphone. After you’re done making and sharing your own meme, you can also use it to browse a daily selection of popular memes and vote on your favorites.

There’s no Android version yet, but if the app is popular, it might be considered.
