The July/August issue of Men’s Health has hit the newsstands. While this wouldn’t normally be of interest to anyone but the magazine’s regular readers, this particular issue is the first one full of “live,” interactive ads.
Nearly 100 advertisers in the issue are using SnapTell’s Snap.Send.Get mobile marketing technology that lets readers take a picture of the ad with their camera phone, send it to SnapTell and get a promotional message sent back to their phone. The ads work with any camera phone and readers don’t need to download any software to interact with them.
We’ve been waiting for this since April, when SnapTell first said it would be working with Men’s Health and Rolling Stone to see what kind of response the ads get.
Some of the advertisers in this inaugural interactive issue include AT&T, Anheuser-Busch, Honda Motors, Louis Vuitton, Quaker Oats, The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble and Unilever. The promotions include product samples and discounts, sweepstakes and links to Web sites and videos.
