Microsoft has just added two new features to their Media Center PC platform: Internet TV and Media Center’s own version of Slingbox called WebGuide, according to a Cedia News report and relayed by Engadget.
“The software actually goes beyond what Slingbox is capable of, giving you full control over your system remotely, allowing you to set record times, change schedules, and generally go buck-wild, even from a mobile phone or WiFi equipped PDA.”
There’s no word on whether you can actually watch your recorded programs from a cellphone. That’s something that SlingPlayer Mobile can do. This author reviewed SlingPlayer Mobile for PC Magazine late last year; it’s a great option for Slingbox owners, provided you have a compatible smartphone (such as a Treo).
