Milestones for Main Street Connect

Hyperlocal news network Main Street Connect, which launched last March, reached two milestones: 1 million visits, and 100 contracts with local ad partners.

The Daily Norwalk was the first Main Street Connect site, followed by further expansion in Connecticut last May. It will begin its national rollout this year.

Editor, publisher, and CEO Carll Tucker said:

I am dazzled by the reception of our first 10 sites. We look forward to taking this successful model of community news all over the United States. It’s a rich offering for readers and an opportunity for advertisers to bring their message to their most likely customers and clients.

Managing editor Carl Lavin added:

The intense audience interest in quality local news and information energizes our journalism. At the rate we are attracting readers, we will hit 2 million visits by May.
