Mini-Podcast 7: Skype 1.0.1 for iPhone Sound Quality Check

…is finally here. So, I installed it on my iPhone 3G and recorded a quick sound quality check. You can hear it as part of the very short (1 minute 49 second) mini-podcast embedded above.

I was very surprised by the sound quality. I expected it to sound much better than the Skype for Windows Mobile test I recorded in Mini-Podcast 6 last week. Although Skype for iPhone produced a very different sound from the Windows Mobile Skype (using an HTC TyTn for my test), I’m not sure I would call it better. Let me know what you think after you have a chance to listen to a Skype call made from an iPhone (or 2nd generation iPod touch) to you.
