Does your favorite brand have an app? If they don’t, they probably will soon. Mobile CRM apps, apps that companies introduce to manage relationships with customers, will grow 500 percent by 2014, according to a new report from Gartner.

To help companies strategize how they create these apps, Gartner offered some tips. Here is more from the press release:

To develop a successful mobile application’s strategy IT leaders need to consider four areas, which are demand — what customers want and what the business needs; supply — what staff and skills are needed to manage external partners; control — who owns and manages the strategy, and risks — what could derail the strategy and the other factors that will affect it.

The report also revealed that last year, almost 39 percent of the CRM software market revenue was generated through software-as-a-service tools. This year, Gartner expects this to increase by 42 percent and to increase to more than 5- percent by 2016.
