Mobile ESPN, the ill-fated MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) that died last year from a lack of interest, is now back.
This time around, it’s no longer a completely separate network with its own phones and pricing plans. Now it’s simply part of Verizon’s V CAST Mobile TV service, which costs $15 per month and works on select Verizon handsets.
Mobile ESPN makes a lot more sense in this incarnation, now that it’s just another video channel in the lineup, though one that’s supported by additional made-for-mobile content such as player stats and editorial pages.
