MocoNews reports that MocoSpace, a mobile social networking startup, has received $3 million in its first round of funding.
“The Boston-based company has been around for some time, and says it is nearing 1 million members. It has grown organically and has been doing ad campaigns across mobile ad networks such as Third Screen Media and AdMob,” according to MocoNews.
Smaller mobile social networking startups are having a tough time gaining a foothold in the wireless industry. In a recent study, the top three social networking sites on mobile turned out to be the same names we’re all familiar with on the desktop (MySpace, Facebook, and YouTube).
