I’ve been playing the $2.99
Modern Conflict HD (iTunes App Store)
game on my iPad off-and-on for a couple of weeks now. It is a real-time battle with movement restricted to different paths on a variety of node graph maps combining strategy with brute force. The game’s description of being “simple but incredibly addictive” seems very accurate to me. I’ve come back to it again and again when I have the time to set aside for it.
POSSIBLE GAME SPOILER AHEAD
Now, I’m a mere casual gamer and the last person you probably would come to for game strategy advice. But, is it just me or is Modern Conflict HD a weirdly zen-strategy combat game? Once you get past the first couple of levels, the optimal strategy seems to shift to: Do as little as possible at the start of most sessions. And, let your opponents wear themselves out.
