YouTube is expanding its worldwide network. The Guardian reports that the two-year-old video site will soon offer access to local sites in countries such as France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Brazil and Japan, as well as services in the UK and Ireland.
As we mentioned the other day, The Guardian says that YouTube is also planning to capitalize on the rapid take-up of mobile phones that can access online content with a series of made-for-mobile services. It follows suit that the above nine countries will soon have access to YouTube on mobile as well.
The new sites, incidentally, will also support YouTube’s content deals, such as ones with the Sun, Condé Nast, Dazed & Confused and more than 40 other UK media organizations.
