More Whacky iPhone App Pricing: AP Stylebook for $28.99

Would you pay $28.99 for this iPhone app?

AP Stylebook 1.0 (iTunes App Store)

Amazon sells the paper version of this book for $12.89 (list is $18.95). So, I should pay $28.99 for the app because??? Hmm…

As I said in yesterday’s commentary about the $24.99 price for the iPhone app-book version of Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol: Weird iPhone Book-in-an-App Category Pricing. However, I should note that the AP Styleguide is not in the iTunes App Store book category. It is listed under “Reference” where you can find apps like Google Mobile App and Wikipanion (both free).

Unlike Dan Brown’s book, the AP Styleguide 2009 is not available as an Amazon Kindle ebook yet. However, I did find the AP Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law listed in the Kindle Store without a price or availability information. I assume it will be available there soon.
