Most Americans Aren’t Impressed With Siri: Intelligent Voice

Screen Shot 2013-10-21 at 10.32.50 PMAlmost half of Americans (46 percent) think that the voice recognition capabilities of Siri have been “oversold.” This is according to a poll by Intelligent Voice of more 2,000 American consumers.

According to the new report, 44 percent of Americans also rate Siri’s accuracy as “Hit or Miss” or worse. Only 12.7 percent rate Siri as “Extremely accurate.”

“Voice Recognition is an emerging technology that’s been emerging for 30 years,” stated Nigel Cannings, CTO at Intelligent Voice. “We need to be careful that we sell what is possible, and it seems we’re not doing that. ‘Star Trek’ communication with computers is still a long way off.”

Do you use Siri? If so, do you think she works very well?
