Movieline_2.26.jpgIt brought irreverence and insight to coverage of Hollywood, bound in a glossy monthly magazine.

But that was then.

Now, Movieline is back as a Web Portal and they’ve grabbed three former Defamer staffers to revive the brand, online. Seth Abramovitch, S.T. VanAirsdale, and Kyle Buchanan will oversee the site.

“Movieline had a big influence on Defamer, and the idea of reviving it for a new generation of savvy industry insiders and pop culture fanatics is a thrill, to say the least,” says Abramovitch.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Defamer would be folded into Gawker.com. That has already happened, with Defamer calling itself, “Gawker’s column from Hollywood.”

Moveline.com is expected to launch in Spring.
