MSNBC.com Seeks Web-Savvy News Editor

Looking for a fast-paced gig in the Seattle area? Msnbc.com is seeking an experienced editor to work for its online newsroom and oversee breaking news situations.

In this role, you’ll monitor news and trends to come up with relevant, broad-appeal stories to help define the site. You’ll manage a network of freelance writers, and work with other in-house teams to develop special projects and packages. Are you a social networking machine? Great, because you’ll also be expected to engage readers across several social platforms.

To be considered, you’ll need a minimum of five years of experience editing or producing news for an online daily publication. You should have the proven ability to select top news stories; write compelling headlines; and manage content. Naturally, you should have top-notch writing and skills, and be proficient in CMS and Web-based publishing tools. Interested? Apply here.
