In an article that sounds more than a little like a stunt from The Onion, Reuters is reporting that MTV plans to launch “thousands” of new Web sites in a move that will let viewers “watch, contribute, and even re-edit” its television programming.
“[MTV] aims to build Web sites related to every personality and aspect of its shows, hoping to catch viewers wherever they happen to be on the Internet and on mobile phones,” MTV Networks digital president Mika Salmi said in an interview.
