MySpace Music launched a new initiative to boost new artists via online and offline promotions, and its Introducing… kicked off with inaugural artists Sherwood, We the Kings, Kid Sister and Serena Ryder.
Introducing… uses premieres of albums, singles and videos, as well as featured playlists, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews to help up-and-coming artists create and build loyal fan bases.
MySpace Music president Courtney Holt said:
The next hit records are already on MySpace—they just aren’t hits yet. When you think about all of the artists who have successfully used MySpace as a career launch pad, it’s not hard to imagine that had this program launched a couple years ago, participating artists may have included Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy or Drake.
