Myxer Gains in Nielsen Mobile Rankings

Myxer, the ad-supported mobile content company, just announced that they’ve surpassed 15 million users for the first time. In addition, the company is now ranked number four on Nielsen Mobile’s SMS traffic category (after Google, 4INFO, and American Idol), number two on HitWise’s Mobile Phone Entertainment Websites list, and one of the top 500 Web sites (of any kind) in the U.S. according to Alexa.

In the past 18 months, Myxer claims to have gone from one million to 15 million users, 300K content items to 1.7 million items, and 10,000 providers to 100,000. The company has also announced two new executive hires: Tom Severson as CFO and Roger Pavane as EVP of Sales.
