Myxer, a company that encourages bands to upload music to its catalog and lets users create their own ringtones, has unveiled a copyright protection program for mobile content owners.
According to Mobile Marketer, Protect, as the program is called, “is a tool designed to give content owners open access to content administration tools that help with meeting the requirements of the Millennium Copyright Act.” Essentially, it lets them control how consumers on the Myxer site use their content.
This makes us wonder what kind of complaints Myxer was getting from content owners.
