Myxer to Offer Personalized Ringtones

INgrooves, an independent music community provider, announced an agreement with Myxer to offer the latter’s 15 million users access to several hundred thousand ringtones from independent artists via www.myxer.com.

As part of the deal, Myxer will convert tracks from INgrooves’ catalog into premium ringtones via an automated process. Users can also snip out their own section of a given song to use as a ringtone before downloading.

The two companies said in a joint statement that the new offerings will be made available as Myxer’s special “Picks of the Day,” which currently generate between 5 and 15 thousand downloads per day.
